LEGO Ideas Jaws set release date and more details rumoured

The upcoming LEGO Ideas Jaws set is now rumoured to be released later this year, in a reported slot that we predicted it could take up.

Diving Faces‘ Jaws project has been approved for a LEGO Ideas set and now, exabrickslegogo_ on Instagram reports that it could be launching on August 1, 2024. This is one of several previously rumoured slots for LEGO Ideas sets in 2024 that we predicted would be reserved for the Jaws set, based on the rumoured details.

Rumour has it that 21350 Jaws will feature 1,497 pieces and be released on August 1, 2024, with no reported price at this time.

The piece count for the original project has not been specified but as we mentioned in our prediction report, the rumoured piece count could mean that part of the submission is scaled down and it’s worth noting that a larger shark element (recently featured in 60379 Deep-Sea Explorer Submarine) already exists and would be suitable for the film’s iconic shark.

Alternatively, the original project also proposed a build that eschewed the boat completely, focusing on half the shark emerging from the water in a diorama. Whether that could be the focus of the upcoming set has yet to be confirmed.

Nothing is known about the upcoming LEGO Ideas Jaws set for now beyond the fact that it is coming eventually. Take all rumours with caution until more is confirmed and in the meantime click here to see what else is coming to LEGO Ideas.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.

I hope it comes out as shown in the photo. Jaws is one of my favourite films, so looking forward to this, if it’s a full Orca, Bruce the shark and the correct scale for Quint, Hooper & Brody.

If this set is a Diorama, and does not have the full brick-built Orca & Shark – then I am going to have to pass on it completely. I have zero interest in this set if it is a Diorama. However, if it is going to be the full Ship and Shark- then it is a day one purchase. Really hoping for the latter.

I totally agree. However, not including the brick-built shark would be just as bad. If the LEGO Company goes with the smaller shark, it won’t be in scale with the boat at all; only the minifigures of Brody, Quint, and Hooper would be in scale with the shark.
