LEGO Ideas has launched a new light-themed Star Wars event

The worlds of LEGO Star Wars and Ideas are crossing over as a new event on the platform is asking you to bring the light side to your displays.

LEGO Ideas has announced the theme of this week’s activity – a building-focused challenge that asks users to showcase their skills on a certain topic, but with no prize on offer other than a potential highlight on social media.

The exact request for the latest LEGO Ideas activity is for you to introduce lighting of all kinds to your LEGO Star Wars dioramas and displays, possibly replicating the shine of a lightsaber with 75255 Yoda or the iconic look of blaster fire amidst a battle.

Whilst previous activities on the platform have disclosed that the use of any IP would limit the team from being able to share your work on social media, it has been revealed that the Star Wars franchise is fair game for this event should you hope to see your build on the official LEGO Ideas channels.

You can enter your builds on the activity page here as well as find a full guide to the rules for the challenge. Those familiar with the LEGO Ideas activities will likely know what to expect, aside from the allowance of the Star Wars IP. However, it may be wise to check the rules anyway before you upload your entry.

For something a little more involved, LEGO Ideas is also hosting two contests currently, one themed to Harry Potter with digital or physical builds required and the other asking for Unity Microgames that can be played with just one button. The winners for the latter competition will be installed in new arcade machines coming to select LEGO stores.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.

Don’t waste your efforts and time. Lego had this habit of taking the ideas or builds of fans and re-do it, manufacture it and take credit for it.
