LEGO Ideas’ retiring D&D set transforms with simple change
LEGO collectors needing another excuse to pick up the retiring D&D set can transform the build to be functional with a simple set of changes.
There’s not much time left to purchase the retiring LEGO Ideas 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale before it retires this July. The 3,745-piece set is still available for £314.99 / $359.99 / €359.99 and with an assortment of exclusive minifigures and printed pieces.
It’s a build made for fans of the role-playing game, even integrating its own story that can be played through with a free rulebook and adventure. Outside of this, it’s likely only going to be sitting in the background of your game night, unless you modify the model with under £30 worth of pieces. BardicBricks has remixed the model to become a functional dice tower, with two different ways to roll.

Their alternate design needs an additional assortment of elements, all of which are available directly on Pick a Brick for £26.58. These can then be added to the model using the $5 instructions on Rebrickable.
It turns the LEGO Ideas D&D set from a display model into something that is both displayable and functional at your next game night. The only interior sections that are seriously modified are smaller sections anyway, and you can still pose the minifigures just about everywhere.
