LEGO Pick a Brick update is great for modular building fans
This month’s LEGO Pick a Brick update is good news for modular building fans, making two previously dormant elements easily affordable.
Anyone aiming to source the pieces for the retired 10185 Green Grocer modular building before January would have faced major difficulties or financial burdens tracking down two specific elements. The 1×8 brick and the 1×2 brick with groove are used in sand green 50 and 56 times, respectively, in the modular building, but have only otherwise appeared in a handful of other sets across the years. All of them are now retired, and most were on the expensive side at launch.
At least, this was true until earlier this year, when 11371 Shopping Street saw fit to use 21 of the 1×8 brick and 7 of the 1×2 brick with groove in this specific colour. It finally gave fans a more accessible way to pick up these two pieces, even if that meant heading to BrickLink for them or picking up the set multiple times over.

Thankfully, the Pick a Brick May 2026 update makes this job even easier as these highly desirable pieces have been added to the service. You can now order as many as you want of each to complete your Green Grocer rebuild, but stock is starting to run out already.
Their stocks will likely be replenished in due time, in case you want to bookmark the above links and return to order them at a later date. Either way, it’s easier than ever before to finish building 10185 Green Grocer without a copy of the original set.
It’s all part of the May 2026 Pick a Brick update, and you can browse it by reading our original report from earlier today. At the time of writing, 711 new pieces have been added, only five of which are out of stock.
