LEGO Insiders 6535734 Treasure Chest review

There’s more to the new LEGO 6535734 Treasure Chest reward than meets the eye, despite its ingeniously simplistic appearance.

The latest addition to the LEGO Insiders Rewards Centre is the 154-piece 6535734 Treasure Chest, offering a place for fans to store their valuables (or spare parts) while hiding their greatest treasures safely away from prying eyes. Early impressions of the chest may have been somewhat underwhelmed, but there’s a good reason for this that might persuade you to pick up this build with your points.

You can grab this set right now via the LEGO Insiders Rewards Centre for 2,400 points, which you can accumulate by spending £300 on other LEGO sets over time on LEGO.com or in LEGO stores. 2,400 points are worth £15, should you redeem them for a discount on another LEGO purchase rather than for a physical reward.

LEGO Insiders 6535734 Treasure Chest review 2 1024x683

The grounded exterior of this chest is undoubtedly plain, with similar shaping to that of 6510865 Mimic Dice Box and a uniform appearance overall. There’s no monstrous side to this box, though there is a hidden feature. The chest can be opened as normal to access the interior with a functioning lock that is stronger than you’d expect for a LEGO set. It’s foolproof for anyone unaware of how to unlock it too.

The expansive lid of the chest hides a secret compartment for your most valuable LEGO elements that is similarly challenging to open unless you know the right place to insert the provided key. This puzzle-box-like design lends itself well to a LEGO model and the initially boring appearance makes it the perfect hiding spot for your most treasured LEGO pieces.

6535734 Treasure Chest is currently redeemable for 2,400 points on the Insiders Rewards Centre while stocks last. It’s a worthwhile build – even for 2,400 points – and with the likes of the LEGO Insiders Weekend and Black Friday on the horizon, you may find yourself with points to spare soon enough.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
