LEGO Jurassic World summer 2025 sets are missing something

There appears to be a mysterious dinosaur-shaped hole in this summer’s upcoming range of Jurassic World: Rebirth-themed models.

The LEGO Group today unearthed six new LEGO Jurassic World builds that will be launching on June 1, 2025. All of the upcoming models are based on Jurassic World: Rebirth, with the latest dino-sequel due to hit big screens around the world on July 2.

Included in that prehistoric line-up are 76970 Baby Dinosaur Dolores: Aquilops, 76972 Raptor Off-Road Escape, 76973 Raptor & Titanosaurus Tracking Mission, 76974 Brick-Built Mosasaurus Boat Mission, 76975 T. rex River Escape and 76976 Spinosaurus & Quetzalcoatlus Air Mission, but we can’t help but notice that something huge is missing from those offerings.

The first trailer for Jurassic World: Rebirth revealed that a recovery team would be heading to the island that housed the original Jurassic Park’s research lab to recover DNA from its scaly inhabitants. The teaser footage also included an initial look at an altogether different kind of dino-creation, a hulking brute that could make for a very unique LEGO Jurassic World set.

Although the lumbering creature has yet to be named, series producer Frank Marshall has already hinted that there are mutations on the island, all based on real dinosaur research. Director Gareth Edwards has also stated that the beast is a mix of the Rancor from Return of the Jedi, “some H.R. Giger and a little T. rex.”

While no additional LEGO Jurassic World 2025 models have been announced so far, there is a gap in that line-up that could be the perfect spot for the new apex predator. Product number 76971 has yet to be allocated to any specific set, which leads us to wonder what kind of a dinosaur model could potentially fill that space.

If 76971 does prove to be based on the unnamed creature from Jurassic World: Rebirth, it’s possible such a LEGO Jurassic World build may be under wraps until much closer to the movie’s launch, but that’s just speculation on our part.

All six LEGO Jurassic World sets are now available to view on the official online store, although pre-orders are currently only available for 76974 Brick-Built Mosasaurus Boat Mission and 76975 T. rex River Escape at the time of this writing.
