LEGO The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith documentary revealed
The upcoming 11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith will be accompanied by its very own Secrets of our Sets documentary when the LEGO Icons model launches.
Middle-earth fans received official details of two new LEGO Icons sets yesterday in the shape of 11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith and 40893 The Lord of the Rings: Grond. The launch of those builds will also be celebrated with a special behind-the-scenes documentary which will accompany the launch of the models when they arrive on June 1, 2026.
A first look at the upcoming Secrets of our Sets documentary was revealed in a recent LEGO Icons livestream event featuring the builds, along with members of the design team, including project lead François Zapf. However, the full mini movie will feature a fellowship of LEGO designers, including Senior Designer Mike Psiaki and Graphic Design Lead Tore Magelund Harmark-Alexandersen, and take a deep dive into the set’s many secrets and the seven walls of the White City.
The 11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith documentary will be available to watch right here from June 1 and follows in the footsteps of similar videos, such as the inside story behind the making of 75442 The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter earlier this month, which boasted members of the LEGO Star Wars design team and Doug Chiang, SVP and Executive Design Director at Lucasfilm.
In addition to the 11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith documentary debuting next month, the release of the LEGO Icons set will be accompanied by launch parties and designer signings at select LEGO Stores, giving fans the chance to pick up the set on day one and meet its lead creator in person.
11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith will be released exclusively for Insiders on June 1, 2026, with wider availability for all from June 4. The LEGO Icons set is priced at £579.99 / €649.99 / $649.99 and available with 40893 The Lord of the Rings: Grond as a GWP from June 1-7 (while stocks last).
