Promobricks are reporting to have information regarding the 2022 modular building model, suggesting that the next addition in the growing LEGO street will be, at least partially, a hotel as was previously rumoured.
Following on from the initial report, Promobricks states that the 2022 modular – 10297 Hotel and Art Gallery – won’t just be a hotel, but also an art gallery. The build is said to span across three floors, and not resemble the original 10182 Café Corner too much. The building is stated to be designed not at the typical right angles of corner modular but instead, feature a look similar to the Flatiron building in New York.
The ground floor is listed as including arches on the street and be made of nougat-coloured elements. The report also mentions the lack of a sign like the one 10182 Café Corner had. One section of the model will not span three storeys, but will only be one floor tall. This expansion is said to be the art gallery, whilst the rest is dedicated to the hotel. On the terrace of the gallery is rumoured to be a palm tree. The roof of the main building is reported to be turquoise in colour.
10182 Café Corner was released in 2007, meaning the 15th anniversary of the Modular Buildings Collection is coming in 2022. The rumour states that to celebrate this occasion, a new GWP will be released alongside 10297 Hotel and Art Gallery in the form of the 40532 Modular Buildings 15th Anniversary GWP. No details are provided for the model, but it may be that it is comparable to 10230 Mini Modulars from 2012.
Six minifigures are said to be included with 10297 Hotel and Art Gallery, portraying two bellhops, a barista and three other minifigures wearing smart clothing. The price is mentioned as €199.99 for a release date of January 1, 2022. As usual, treat all rumours with caution until the LEGO Group officially confirms them.
