The LEGO Modular Buildings Collection is about to be bigger than ever

The early launch of the 10326 Natural History Museum LEGO modular building means that the collection is about to bigger than ever.

Launching on December 1, 2023 – a month earlier than usual – 10326 Natural History Museum is the latest in a long line of models, all of which are compatible with each other. The month-early release of the latest modular building means that for one month only, six entries in the lengthy LEGO street are going to be available.

Throughout the history of the LEGO Modular Buildings Collection, there have only ever been a maximum of five models in the collection available at one time, until now. The early arrival of 10326 Natural History Museum on December 1 – when it should be launching on January 1, 2024, based on past releases – means that for the first time ever, there are going to be six models on shelves, theoretically.

While that will give you plenty of choice to expand on this build, three of the six current models are retiring at the end of 2023, provided that they don’t sell out before then.

10255 Assembly Square, also measuring one and a half baseplates wide, is the oldest current LEGO modular building and still has the classic smiling minifigure faces that have long since been retired from the collection. 10270 Bookshop and 10278 Police Station are more familiar in comparison and contained to one baseplate.

Each uses white bricks in their construction, the same as 10326 Natural History Museum, and should mix well with the new set. 10270 Bookshop and 10255 Assembly Square should work especially well thanks to their unique tree build and the size of the latter.

At the time of writing, all three are available worldwide and we can only hope that they last until December 1 for the Modular Buildings Collection to have its biggest shelf presence ever. 10326 Natural History Museum releases on December 1 for £259.99 / $299.99 / €299.99. 40586 Moving Truck is back in the UK and Europe with orders of £160 / €180 until October 31 or while stocks last, in case you want to catch up on the range ready for December 1 or pre-order the new set.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
