LEGO Ideas Nightmare Before Christmas contest winners revealed
The winners of a recent LEGO Ideas contest themed around The Nightmare Before Christmas have now been revealed in all of their spooky glory.
A creepy LEGO Ideas contest was announced in October to tie in with Halloween, challenging creative fan designers to come up with their own models based on Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. The team was looking for builds that transformed a classic Christmas element into a spooky version, as if it were a decoration in Halloween Town.
After a slight delay during the judging phase, the winners of the appropriately-titled Jack Skellington’s Swap-A-Roo have finally been announced, with three finalists ultimately making the gooey grade.

The Grand Prize winner was Undead Gingerbread by SJs Workshop, complete with two confectionary-based fiends standing on a hybrid Halloween/Christmas base. Creative use has been made of many unusual pieces, such as coiled whips for iced eyes, roller skates for piped icing and knitted cap gum drops, plus candles and animal horns as spiked candy canes.

Note to be outdone, the first of two runner-up submissions is Man-Eating Wreath by Naatkins, based on a similar design glimpsed in The Nightmare Before Christmas. The model includes a green brick-built wreath with yellow and black eyes, plus a red bow to complete the frightening festive model.

The second runner-up is Nutcrackers Gone Spooky, which is the brainchild of Beto_Builds. The design includes five different nutcracker figures that have undergone something of a spooky transformation.
Each of the Jack Skellington’s Swap-A-Roo finalists have won a bundle of essential LEGO Ideas sets, including 21351 The Nightmare Before Christmas, 43230 Walt Disney Tribute Camera, 21332 The Globe, 21338 A-Frame Cabin and 21346 Family Tree.
