LEGO NINJAGO is now officially a teenager

It's a big day for LEGO NINJAGO as the massive franchise officially becomes a teenager on the anniversary of the start of its series.

While it may not be the most significant anniversary, LEGO NINJAGO's first episode aired on January 14, 2011, making today its 13th anniversary. The theme is officially a teenager and it shows no sign of stopping yet.

Don't expect anything huge for the anniversary as it's not quite as notable as turning 10 years old, which was celebrated with a line of exclusive minifigures across nostalgic sets. Instead, we can look forward to what's to come from NINJAGO in 2024.

While an exact release date has not been confirmed, we know that a second season of LEGO NINJAGO Dragons Rising is coming at some point this year and the theme's latest LEGO sets are teasing the adventures to come.

Otherwise, a mini-series featuring three elemental mechs has just wrapped up with all episodes available to watch on the LEGO Group's YouTube channel now. Two more waves of LEGO NINJAGO sets are coming in 2024 after the recent January models and a couple of entries in the next wave have been confirmed, including 71815 Kai’s Source Dragon Battle and 71817 Lloyd's Elemental Power Mech.

Also coming, likely in 2024, is a collection of micro NINJAGO City sets that were recently discovered with four confirmed, but only one revealed so far. While there are no huge plans for the 13th anniversary, NINJAGO doesn't exactly have a quiet year ahead at least.
