LEGO product designer drops possible clue for rumoured Harry Potter sets

The LEGO Harry Potter product designer has dropped a possible clue for potential rumoured sets that could be on their way to the theme.

Recent rumours reported originally by Promobricks suggest that a D2C Harry Potter set could be 76417 Gringotts Bank, a long-awaited addition to the magical theme. Judging from a tweet from LEGO Harry Potter Product Designer George Gilliatt, the theme’s team could have snapped a picture that teases the rumoured model.

“The LEGO Harry Potter team have had so much fun today at Warner Bros. Studio Tour – The Making of Harry Potter!” he wrote. “It’s so amazing to…see the original props and locations used in the films…now I’m excited to get back to turning them into LEGO products.”

George rounded off the tweet with a double eyes emoji, perhaps inviting us to take a closer look at the locations pictured in his tweet. Featured are three minifigures alongside life-sized Hogwarts Express, a mermaid head, the Mandrakes in Professor Sprout’s greenhouse, and (most notably) the interior of Gringotts Bank.

76405 Hogwarts Express Collectors’ Edition was released just last year as 2022’s D2C set within LEGO Harry Potter and we’ll soon see the mermaids be revisited in 76420 Triwizard Tournament: The Black Lake. Could the final picture hint that the rumours are true and 76417 Gringotts Bank could truly be on its way?

Of course, this is far from confirmation, but rather fun food for thought. We’ve already dug into what we’d want to see if the LEGO Group did make many Potter fans’ dreams come true, but for now, we just need to wait to hear from the LEGO Group as to whether it’s truly on its way to the theme.
