The LEGO Group is removing more than 2,000 pieces from its online Pick a Brick service this month, including plenty of high-interest animal and minifigure elements.
Pick a Brick has long been a useful way to amass large numbers of interesting elements that are otherwise pretty hard to come by in sets, and in recent months has even proven a great source of complete minifigures. But the LEGO Group has now confirmed (via the LEGO Ambassador Network) that more than 2,000 pieces will be leaving the service on or before November 17.
Among those are dozens (if not hundreds) of genuinely useful parts, many of which are far cheaper through Pick a Brick than any other secondary marketplace. The red and purple Classic Space helmets and airtanks are on the chopping block, for example, as are the Blacktron torso and red Classic Space astronaut torso – which are both fundamental to building their respective minifigures.

Castle and Vikings fans will need to act sharpish to secure some pretty valuable pieces through Pick a Brick too, such as the Viking maiden’s moulded helmet and hairpiece from 31132 Viking Ship and the Midgard Serpent, along with armour and helmet elements from 21325 Medieval Blacksmith. Both of those sets are due to retire at the end of 2023, so seeing their specific parts leave the Pick a Brick library is not massively surprising.
It’s not just minifigure elements making way, though. The LEGO Group is also putting a variety of animals out to pasture, including baby pigs, sheep and multiple different cats, while there are plenty of regular bricks in all shapes and sizes that will no longer be available to order as of November 17 (or perhaps even earlier).
You can check out the full list of pieces leaving Pick a Brick this month over on Rebrickable. Note that these elements will all be gone before this year’s Black Friday events, so if you were planning to shore up a huge order to meet any gift-with-purchase thresholds during LEGO Insiders Weekend or Black Friday, you’re going to need to reconsider.
The good news is that orders above £115 / $130 / €130 will still qualify for both 40595 Tribute to Galileo Galilei and 40609 Christmas Fun Add-On Pack through November 16 (or while stocks last). Head over to LEGO.com to place your Pick a Brick order now.
