LEGO Sonic ad offers an early look at missing set

Eagle-eyed LEGO Sonic fans might have spotted a clue for a missing set within the newly-revealed wave of builds.

Now that we’ve seen all four revealed LEGO Sonic sets in detail and the dust has settled, we can’t help but notice that there’s a missing set number between 76992 Amy’s Animal Rescue Island and 76994 Sonic’s Green Hill Zone Loop Challenge. This would suggest there’s still another set that’s yet to be revealed – and there’s certainly time to do so in between now and the wave’s release date on August 1.

Indeed, the LEGO Group is dropping some heavy hints as to what this mystery set could be, sharing a video with the caption “Wait. Was that…Dr. Eggman…?” and rounding it off with a ‘hack’ from the evil scientist himself.

What’s more, if you look closely in the background of one of the clips, you can see a suspiciously hidden build that doesn’t feature in any of the revealed sets. Has Dr. Eggman got his hands on a brick-built suit?

The shadowy set looks much more in line with display purposes than the other four play-focused sets, built in a similar style to some of the brick-built Hulkbuster’s we’ve seen over the years. We can only hope that, if and when it does come out, it’s closer to 76247 The Hulkbuster: The Battle of Wakanda than 76210 Hulkbuster…
