LEGO Speed Champions may have forecast TT Games’ future
Job listings for the next project from TT Games offer clues as to what to expect and LEGO Speed Champions might already have the answer.
In February 2024, a job listing for developer TT Games surfaced confirming that an upcoming project would be based on a major intellectual property. At the time, this was thought to be referencing Harry Potter due to Warner Bros.’s ownership of TT Games and their easy access to the license.
A second job listing from earlier today adds to this, noting that the studio is looking for a model designer with specific skills in LEGO vehicle design such as those in Speed Champions. As we pointed out in our initial report, vehicles don’t fit with Harry Potter outside of the flying Ford Anglia.
Instead, TT Games’ next project is likely to be something else combining a major IP with Speed Champions-style vehicles and Formula 1 would fit the bill with the current partnership, but only as long as you consider it to be an IP instead of a sport.
The official Formula 1 website mentions IP rights, but whether TT Games would acknowledge Formula 1 as an overall IP rather than a sport isn’t clear. The definition of IP would seemingly only cover the sport’s branding and other aspects of it. Thankfully, the other contender fits the listed requirements much better.

With four Fast & Furious sets released so far, including two under Speed Champions and another confirmed for the future, a LEGO Fast & Furious game might be on the way. The story-based franchise is undoubtedly an IP that heavily revolves around vehicles that the LEGO Group entered into a partnership with in 2020.
The two Speed Champions models with a third rumoured for later this year also indicate that the partnership is still active and right now, the last Fast & Furious set is currently scheduled to retire in 2026. Assuming there aren’t more sets coming in the future, there might still be time for a LEGO Fast & Furious game to be developed and released to tie in with current products before 2026 ends.
There are at least two upcoming Fast & Furious franchise movies with two others reported, showcasing the longevity of the IP too. The increasingly nonsensical, action-packed escapades of these films would fit TT Games’ brand of humour and gameplay too and evidently, it’s a brand that the LEGO Group approves of their name being attached to.
It’s worth mentioning that LEGO 2K Drive already featured the Fast & Furious Speed Champions sets as part of the Drive Pass, proving that they can work in a LEGO game.
On paper, Fast & Furious fits the listed job requirements for whatever TT Games is working on next, but this is only speculation and all we know about their next title is the presence of Speed Champions-style vehicles and that it’s based on a major IP. We’ll have to wait and see what the future holds for TT Games after the release of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga in 2022.
