LEGO Star Wars 75343 Dark Trooper Helmet officially revealed

The LEGO Group has finally unveiled 75343 Dark Trooper Helmet, the last of the three new Star Wars characters joining its Helmet Collection in 2022.

Amazon Poland revealed 75327 Luke Skywalker (Red Five) Helmet and 75328 The Mandalorian Helmet last week, but the third rumoured helmet was nowhere to be seen. An image of the set half-built then popped up on LEGO Australia’s Facebook page, ahead of its official debut at LEGO.com today.

With 693 pieces in the box, 75343 Dark Trooper Helmet is – surprisingly – the largest of the three new helmets by part count. It depicts the droid from The Mandalorian’s second season (represented in minifigure form in 75315 Imperial Light Cruiser and the upcoming 75324 Dark Trooper Attack), marking a first for the Helmet Collection in that it’s actually more of a head than a helmet.

The final model stands 18cm tall, 12cm wide and 15cm deep. That’s the same height as Mando’s helmet and the same width as Luke’s X-wing helmet, but deeper than either of them – presumably by dint of its jawline. It’s also significantly aesthetically different to the other two, cast in all black with the Dark Trooper’s glowing red eyes.

75343 Dark Trooper Helmet will launch on March 1, but you can already pre-order it from LEGO.com alongside 75327 Luke Skywalker (Red Five) Helmet and 75328 The Mandalorian Helmet. All three will retail for £54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99 apiece. Take a closer look at the other two here.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
