LEGO Star Wars celebrates the holidays on both sides of the Force
Ever wondered how different holidays are on Yavin versus on the Death Star? Wonder no more, thanks to some brand-new animated LEGO Star Wars shorts.
LEGO Star Wars animated shorts are a great way to dive into the galaxy far, far away in a light-hearted way. This year, they’re back with some holiday specials, highlighting how both sides of the Force celebrate the festive period. Safe to say, the Sith way is slightly darker.
Emperor Palpatine sparks chaos with a malicious game of White Elepha – sorry, White Bantha. Death Star employees start fighting over presents, including Vader and Palpatine, before R2-D2 intervenes and steals the mug they’re squabbling off. He escapes on a digitally animated version of 75355 X-Wing Starfighter, heading back to Yoda, reading aloud from a Christmas Carol-style book.
You can watch the animated short via the embedded video below. It’s certainly the most entertaining of the three that have been uploaded to celebrate the holiday season this year.
On the other side of the Force, the rebels are also celebration Life Day on Yavin, decorating the area outside of a digital animation of 75365 Yavin 4 Rebel Base. With Chewie missing his Wookiee family, Han Solo gets the entire base to band together and create a festive scene to cheer his friend up.
Click below to see Han Solo’s efforts in full, helped by Artoo, Leia, and Luke, as well as various other Rebel troopers.
The third and final short dives into the world of Tenoo, featuring the same characters as depicted in 75358 Tenoo Jedi Temple. Yoda features once again, tasking Jedi younglings Kai Brightstar and Lys Solay with finding a number of objects, concluding in a wholesome holiday message.
