LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy inspires Fortnite season
LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy at least partially inspired Fortnite’s next season thanks to a cameo by a certain Sith Gungan.
Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 ended with the announcement that Fortnite’s next season of the Battle Royale mode would be based on Star Wars, with a mix of themed locations, new outfits, Star Wars vehicles and weapons to use and explore. The season will unfold with an ongoing narrative between May 2 and at least until June 7, ending with a new live event.
A teaser trailer and key art for the Galactic Battle season have been shared, and most, if not all, of the outfits will likely receive matching LEGO Styles.
Alongside the likes of Poe Dameron, Captain Phasma, Palpatine, and Wookiee Team Leader is Darth Jar Jar – a character that LEGO Star Wars fans have become familiar with since September 2024. Though Darth Jar Jar has unofficially been the subject of many memes for years, the character’s first official appearance was in last year’s LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy series.

The key art for the Galactic Battle season features a better look at Darth Jar Jar’s outfit, seemingly using the same look that was designed for and featured in the first season of LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy. This design is physically available in 75389 The Dark Falcon, and the minifigure will almost certainly be reused in Fortnite next season.
It’s surprising to see LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy have such an impact on Fortnite, and it seems to be the first time that a LEGO minifigure has been adapted into a realistic outfit, instead of the other way around.
With a second season on the way, there are even more reasons to keep an eye on the LEGO corner of the Star Wars universe. Fortnite Galactic Battle starts on May 2.
