Rumoured LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 3 set spotted in new trailer

A rumoured LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 3 set can be seen in the show’s latest trailer, adding weight to reports that a new TIE Interceptor is coming in 2023.

Two different LEGO Star Wars sets are currently rumoured to be on the way for The Mandalorian Season 3, which debuts on Disney+ on March 1. 75346 Pirate Snubfighter and 75348 Mandalorian Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor aren’t said to arrive on shelves until May – when the series is likely to have wrapped – but the live-action show’s new trailer gives us a glimpse at what one of those sets might look like.

At roughly 70 seconds into the trailer, a squadron of TIE Interceptors can be seen pursuing what’s presumably a Mandalorian Fang Fighter, which is seemingly being piloted by Din Djarin and Grogu. A credible minifigure line-up for the LEGO Star Wars set could therefore consist of both those characters and a TIE Pilot.

75348 Mandalorian Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor is rumoured to include 957 pieces and retail for €99.99 in Europe, however – a price point that should allow for more than three minifigures, and a piece count that would easily allow for fair LEGO renditions of both of those ships, as demonstrated by one builder already.

With that budget in mind, the TIE Interceptor would likely come in at the same scale as 75300 Imperial TIE Fighter and 75347 TIE Bomber, while the Fang Fighter’s angled wings and gyroscopic cockpit are reminiscent of the vehicle recreated in 75316 Mandalorian Starfighter.

The LEGO Group has yet to confirm the existence of any Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 3 sets, so you’re best still taking these reports lightly for now. The presence of both these ships in the trailer does make them just that little bit more credible, though…

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
