Follow LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga news today with Brick Fanatics’ liveblog

Join Brick Fanatics later today for a liveblog on Gamescom’s Opening Night Live event, as we follow along and react to long-awaited news on LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

For the first time in what feels like forever – and has actually been a full year – we know for certain that we’re about to learn more on the long-delayed, saga-spanning sequel. The last concrete update came at Gamescom 2020, when a trailer debuted alongside a new release date of ‘spring 2021’.

When spring finally rolled around and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was still nowhere to be seen, many fans feared the worst. Those doubts were confirmed on April 2, when TT Games announced another, indefinite delay to the hugely-anticipated video game, which will be the studio’s first LEGO title since 2018’s LEGO DC Super-Villains.

Earlier this week, Opening Night Live host Geoff Keighley revealed that more LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga news will finally come in Gamescom 2021’s first streaming event, which you can tune into via Twitch, YouTube, or right here on Brick Fanatics. Our liveblog will kick off at 6.45pm UK time, with Gamescom’s Opening Night Live due to begin 15 minutes later.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
