The LEGO Group has unveiled the latest addition to its biennial Technic Ultimate car collection, 42232 Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear, alongside a day-one gift-with-purchase.
Koenigsegg is the latest megacar and supercar manufacturer to join the collection of 1:8 scale cars, following Porsche, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Ferrari and McLaren, coming in strong with a 4,104-piece feat of Technic engineering. Check out all the details below…

The LEGO Group is billing 42232 Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear as ‘the most advanced LEGO Technic build’ to date, and there’s a laundry list of functions that goes above and beyond previous entries in this collection. Alongside the usual suspects of working steering and a V8 piston engine, the model also incorporates a functional nine-speed transmission, Triplex front and rear suspension, and a rotating gear indicator that displays the car’s current gear.
Beyond those, the LEGO car also recreates the real-life Sadair’s Spear’s ‘Ghost Mode’, which the LEGO Group is championing as the set’s ‘standout innovation’. The function simultaneously rotates the dihedral synchro-helix doors and front hood, raises the rear clam and folds the mirrors.
“Our ambition was to create the most advanced LEGO Technic build we’ve ever produced,” said Senior Model Designer Kasper Rene Hansen. “Incorporating features such as a working Ghost Mode, a nine-speed sequential gearbox and the unique Triplex suspension system – all firsts for a Technic Ultimate model – pushed the boundaries of what’s possible.
“We hope this set captures the spirit and technical sophistication of the Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear, while delivering a rewarding experience for builders.”
