LEGO warns American shoppers that wait times may be ‘longer than usual’

The LEGO Group has a warning in the basket section of the site regarding longer delivery times for shoppers in the United States.

The LEGO Group appears to be struggling to keep up with American orders, warning people before they check out on the US shop that delivery may ‘take longer than usual’. The company doesn’t specify how long customers can expect to wait but that Order Statuses will be kept up to date with the latest information.

“As we’re currently receiving lots of LEGO orders, we’re expecting delivery to take longer than usual,” reads the message. “Please check your Order Status for updates.”

This comes after several new LEGO sets launching on March 1 went on backorder within a few short hours, including almost the entirety of the LEGO Animal Crossing wave. That means getting your hands on brand-new releases might take a while if you want to shop directly at LEGO.com. If speed is a priority for you, you might want to consider heading to a physical LEGO store or shopping via a third-party retailer. In fact, you can stay up to date on some of the latest LEGO deals from across all retailers via our deals page.

With a new carbon-neutral factory currently being built in Virginia to serve much of the United States, this could help to speed up order fulfilment when it opens its doors in 2025.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
