Which Star Wars minifigures will appear in the rumoured LEGO Yavin IV set?

There are a lot of directions the LEGO Group could go with the minifigure selection in the rumoured upcoming LEGO Yavin Base, so we’ve assembled a list of who we think could be included.

LEGO Star Wars 75365 Yavin IV Rebel Base, previously rumoured to be releasing August of this year, is said to come with 12 or more minifigures. For the rumoured price point of $159.99, that’s quite a bit above average, so we’re looking at a list of some characters from the Rebel Alliance that seem the most likely to be included among this large lineup of minifigures.

1 – Yavin Ceremony outfits for our main Star Wars heroes

Previously, versions of Luke Skywalker and Han Solo with their medals printed onto their torsos were exclusive to several different LEGO Star Wars DK books, but it makes sense to give them a modern update for this set. Perhaps instead of printed medals, the minifigures will use pieces similar to the existing LEGO medal accessory

While Princess Leia and Chewbacca don’t get medals (Leia’s the one giving them out and Chewie just gets the short end of the stick), they are both present in the scene and Leia even has a special outfit. This version of Leia has appeared before, in 9495 Gold Leader’s Y-Wing Starfighter, but it is due for an update.

2 – C-3P0 and R2-D2

As the only characters to be spotted at the Yavin IV base in both of its film appearances (A New Hope and Rogue One), C-3P0 and R2-D2 are no-brainer inclusions here. These minifigures are relatively common across the Star Wars theme, though, so there’s a chance they could be omitted in favor of more unique characters.

3 – General Jan Dodonna

general with death star

Even though he appeared recently in 75301 Luke Skywalker’s X-Wing Fighter, this rebel general is the actual military leader of the Yavin IV base, so his inclusion in this set is almost guaranteed. He’s also featured prominently during the medal ceremony scene, which makes his inclusion even more likely.

4 – Rogue One heroes

While Yavin IV is most well-known as a location from the original Star Wars film from 1977, it was also featured quite heavily in the 2016 spin-off film Rogue One. Other than Cassian Andor, none of the main rebel heroes from that film have appeared in LEGO minifigure form since 2017. While this set is probably based on the original film, there’s a chance that characters like Jyn Erso, Chirrut Imwe, Baze Malbus, K-2SO or Bodhi Rook could get updated minifigures in this set.

5 – Mon Mothma and Bail Organa

Speaking of Rogue One, there’s a chance that Mon Mothma and Bail Organa – important members of the Rebel Alliance that didn’t appear in A New Hope – could be included in this set thanks to their appearances in the 2016 film. Both of these characters have appeared in only one LEGO set each, but their designs from LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga could provide an idea of what their updated minifigures would look like.

6 – Rebel Pilots and Troopers

In the Yavin IV prototype model that was revealed in a 2009 LEGO Star Wars visual dictionary, the set is populated by at least four visible rebel troopers as well as three pilots. It’s reasonable to assume that this new set will be similar, featuring at least one of each type of character.

The set is rumoured to feature a Y-Wing, so it’s likely that the pilot could be Gold Leader Jon Vander. Wedge Antilles is another popular named pilot character that could be featured. When it comes to named rebel troopers that could appear, there happens to be another Antilles, this one Captain Raymus Antilles, who shows up in A New Hope as the rebel trooper that gets choked by Darth Vader.

7 – Some more obscure rebels

Finally, the high minifigure count in this set could allow for some unconventional inclusions. Who wouldn’t like to see some fan-favourite background characters like Jek Porkins or Orrimaarko the prune-faced rebel spy represented as LEGO minifigures? Maybe we could even get some LEGO Bothans.

As always with rumoured sets like this one, there’s no guarantee that any information on 75365 Yavin IV Rebel Base is true, so make sure to take all of this information with a grain of salt.
