LEGOLAND California needs your help for latest Miniland expansion

LEGOLAND California has announced an expansion to its Miniland USA area, with a vote to decide which parts of San Diego are coming.

On social media, the team at LEGOLAND California have revealed that the park’s Miniland will be expanding in spring 2023 with San Diego, but that’s not all. As well as the addition, there will be a series of ballots on Instagram to decide which parts of San Diego will come to LEGOLAND California.

The city of San Diego is close to LEGOLAND California in Carlsbad, and it makes a fair amount of sense to represent the nearby area in the LEGO-based resort. Confirmed areas for Miniland include San Diego’s Gaslamp District, Coronado, and Del Mar.

The Instagram polls will be held throughout the upcoming week, though no specific dates have been clarified.

The San Diego expansion to Miniland USA is the latest in a series of additions to LEGOLAND California, including a Ferrari attraction and a huge stadium.

Miniland USA’s San Diego area at LEGOLAND California resort will open in Spring 2023, leaving model designers a few months to recreate the landmarks in bricks once the polls are over.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
