LEGOLAND California Resort celebrates with 20th anniversary dance party

This year marks 20 years since LEGOLAND California Resort became the first US LEGO theme park, and the destination will be celebrating with a dance party.

LEGOLAND California Resort is turning 20 years old this year and will be celebrating with a dance party that will feature two new minifigure characters. Jake and Emily have been named after the most popular names for children that were used in 1999.

The dance party will take place every day from March 16 until September 1, featuring bubbles, a seven foot tall birthday cake and dancers. As well as the anniversary show, the park’s entertainment will be refreshed with the new LEGO Friends: Better Together show. The 4D cinema will play host to a new show too, with LEGO City 4D- Officer in Pursuit screening throughout each day.
