Massive LEGO Bluey builds debut at pop-up event

A pair of huge LEGO Bluey models – System and DUPLO – have appeared at a pop-up event, with slots available to book and visit right now.

To celebrate the launch of LEGO Bluey earlier this month, a pair of massive models have been revealed for a pop-up experience you can visit now, and fittingly, the event is taking place only in Brisbane, Australia.

The LEGO Bluey Ice Creamery is open right now in South Bank, acting as a tribute to the Ice Cream episode from the second season of the animated series. The two LEGO sculptures are the stars of the experience, depicting Bluey and Bingo using 29,224 System pieces and 5,306 DUPLO elements, respectively. The pair took 190 hours to build.

There’s a full building next to the statue at the pop-up, though, containing a LEGO ice cream counter with pieces representing vanilla, chocolate and strawberry (not for consumption). A LEGO picnic play zone is also featured at the pop-up, and the space will remain open until tomorrow, June 8.

You can book a slot for the LEGO Bluey Ice Creamery by clicking here and find out more about the pop-up on the official website. The two LEGO Bluey sculptures represent the two building systems used in the new sets – System and DUPLO.

All of the LEGO Bluey sets are available now, including a variety of new minifigures, one of which is a must-have for LEGO Marvel collectors. You can read our review to see what the target audience thinks of the LEGO Bluey sets.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
