Maul: Shadow Lord’s success could fix a long-standing LEGO Star Wars omission
A Maul: Shadow Lord character reintroduction could finally open the door to a long-missing LEGO Star Wars villain minifigure.
If you haven’t seen Maul: Shadow Lord yet, consider this your friendly spoiler warning – look away now if you have not finished it.
In the final two episodes of the Disney+ series, released on May the 4th, Dryden Vos – the public face of the Crimson Dawn crime syndicate – makes his expected return to the Star Wars universe.
Vos first appeared in Solo: A Star Wars Story, where Paul Bettany brought him to life. Now voiced by Scott Whyte, this marks his first proper on-screen return, although he did briefly appear as a hologram in Season 7 of The Clone Wars.
Despite his key role in Solo, Dryden Vos never received a dedicated minifigure at the time of the film’s release.
75219 Imperial AT-Hauler would have been the perfect opportunity, especially as one of the redeeming qualities of the Solo sets was their unique character selection. Instead, it included Qi’ra and two of Vos’s guards, but not the criminal leader himself.

With Maul: Shadow Lord already confirmed for a second season and proving a hit with fans, tie-in sets feel like a realistic possibility in the future.
If LEGO designers do revisit this corner of the galaxy, it could finally correct one of the most glaring gaps left by Solo’s original wave.
While Darth Maul is an obvious inclusion should sets materialise, the series also opens the door for a range of unique minifigures such as Rook Kast, Brander Lawson and 2B0T, along with various Inquisitors.
Given how long the LEGO Group has gone without a chance to revisit Dryden Vos, Maul: Shadow Lord may finally provide the perfect opportunity to correct that long-standing omission.

A Dryden Vos minifigure would be a great opportunity to create a dedicated Bettany-head for a human-form Vision, as well…although I imagine Vos would have more of a mean face than the Vizh.
