There’s a mini Luke’s Landspeeder in the new LEGO Star Wars May the 4th GWP

As well as including an Aunt Beru minifigure, LEGO Star Wars 40531 Lars Family Homestead Kitchen also includes a homage to a new model.

Moments of synergy, such as a reference to another current build, are uncommon within LEGO themes thanks to the various design teams working on multiple models at the same time.

However, the newly revealed 40531 Lars Family Homestead Kitchen gift-with-purchase features a reference to 75341 Luke’s Landspeeder – this year’s Ultimate Collector Series LEGO Star Wars set.

Located behind Aunt Beru in the featured image, on the surface of the homestead’s kitchen, you’ll find a miniature version of the new UCS model on display, suggesting that Aunt Beru might be a fellow collector.

Unless this is purely a coincidence, this likely means that the LEGO Star Wars designers working on 40531 Lars Family Homestead Kitchen knew that 75341 Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder was also in development. That’s a level of communication that we know isn’t always present between design teams on different themes.
