LEGO Minifigure Factory experience launches online in the US

The LEGO Minifigure Factory has widely launched in beta in the US, inviting you to create a custom minifigure without heading in-store.

Those who have visited a LEGO store recently will know of the minifigure tower and the newer factory station where you can create a custom torso design with text and various imagery combined with accessories and elements from the former.

Now that experience is available online in the US. At the time of writing, the LEGO Minifigure Factory is in beta and it is limited to one minifigure per household for $11.99. This price is comparable with their cost in LEGO stores but note that the webpage may be occasionally unavailable to make changes as it is still in beta.

Much like the experience in-store, the options available to customise your minifigure include the style of the shirt, decorations and text. Those latter two options can be moved around the shirt and resized and it’s easier to do so using a mouse than with your fingers on a touch screen.

That’s one advantage of the online LEGO Minifigure Factory. Custom decorations cannot be uploaded and text will likely be moderated to avoid anything taboo. You only get to create the design on the torso then pick a pair of legs, headwear, a head and an accessory to finish your custom minifigure.

Once you’ve finished, all you need to do is add it to your bag as normal. You’ll even VIP points on the purchase.

Webpages for the experience in other regions have been created, but it is not yet live in them. It at least confirms that this will come to more places soon. This is similar to the online Build a Minifigure experience which is also currently in beta.
