More details on rumoured new LEGO Star Wars Razor Crest

More details have surfaced on next year’s rumoured LEGO Star Wars Razor Crest Microfighter, which is apparently slated to introduce a new type of shooting mechanism.

News of a Mando-themed addition to the Microfighter line-up – conspicuous only by its absence at this stage – first emerged earlier this month, pointing to a $9.99 set with a Beskar Mando minifigure. Instagram user lego_club_news has now published more details on 75321 Razor Crest Microfighter, claiming the set will include a ‘new type of shooter’.

Stud shooters have been ubiquitous across the LEGO Star Wars range – particularly in battle packs and Microfighters – since their introduction in 2014, but between this news and other reports suggesting they won’t be included in January 2022’s rumoured 75320 Hoth Battle Pack, it now sounds like they may be on their way out for good.

There’s no word yet on what exactly the new shooting mechanism will involve, but even if it does replace the classic stud shooter, it probably won’t be the only LEGO missile on the market: spring-loaded shooters, which also debuted in 2014, are likely to still be going strong in 2022.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
