More LEGO VIP retired promotional sets available for US fans

The LEGO VIP Reward Centre is offering a range of retired LEGO gift with purchase sets in exchange for some points in the USA, but not the rest of the world.

In June, the LEGO Group announced that a selection of retired gift with purchase sets, including 40178 VIP, 5006085 Red Brick, 40221 Fountain and DUPLO 40269 Photo Frame would be made available to LEGO VIP members in exchange for some points.

Then, on Friday, only 40178 VIP turned up in the LEGO.com VIP Reward Centre for fans in the UK and Europe. In the US, however, the Brick Fan reports that a greater selection of products are indeed available. As well as 40178 VIP, 5006085 Red Brick, 40221 Fountain and DUPLO 40269 Photo Frame, there is a LEGO tote bag available.

It’s frustrating for fans that the LEGO Group has not communicated clearly that certain products are exclusive to certain markets, but until further information comes along explaining why the UK and Europe have been left out of this one, there is not much to do other than hunt for these retired sets on ebay, Bricklink or Amazon.

A new sweepstakes is coming up, with the 2012 San Diego Comic Con exclusive DC Super Heroes Bizarro as the prize. Other recent VIP exclusives have included a signed LEGO Star Wars book, 75522 Droid Commaner polybag and the sweepstakes for a White Boba Fett minfigure.
