4 – Dogs

LEGO Friends is exploring disability through multiple perspectives in 2023, including a dog with a harness in 41727 Dog Rescue Centre and 41755 Nova’s Room. Beyond that, LEGO City has a new kind of puppy piece for German shepherds and similar breeds in 60369 Mobile Police Dog Training.

3 – Otters

Included in 60394 ATV and Otter Habitat are, as suggested in the name, two otters using the piece first seen in 75966 Hogwarts Room of Requirement. This opaque depiction should be more applicable across a wide variety of LEGO sets and the City model even includes a waterfall for them to slide down.

2 – A new frog

The LEGO frog piece has been a staple of sets, including even 10281 Bonsai Tree for years but thanks to LEGO Minecraft, they finally have a friend thanks to a block-based version in 21240 The Swamp Adventure. Considering the size, you could mix it in with the standard LEGO frogs for variety too.

1 – A large cat

LEGO Friends earns a second spot on this list for a new variety of LEGO cats. Featured in sets including both 41742 Cat Hotel and 41754 Leo’s Room. This large cat element seems likely to be used mostly in LEGO Friends and other mini-doll themes but for breeds including Maine Coons, it could be perfect for minifigures too.
