Variety is reporting that the upcoming Ms. Marvel streaming series, which will introduce the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s version of the character before her co-starring role in The Marvels, will not launch in 2021 as previously stated. This may not come as a surprise considering that Hawkeye will be airing later this year already, leaving little room for additional episodes.
With an updated release date of 2022, Ms. Marvel will presumably release before The Marvels’ planned launch of November 11. Considering that the LEGO Group has sets or minifigures representing all four Marvel Cinematic Universe shows currently streaming on Disney+, Ms. Marvel seems likely to receive similar treatment in due course, though this hasn’t been officially confirmed.
The last Ms. Marvel minifigure featured in 2017’s 76076 Captain America Jet Pursuit, the only brick-built appearance of her character to date where she featured a new type of torso to represent her flexible abilities. This piece would later be used in 10759 Elastigirl’s Rooftop Pursuit but has been missing in sets since 2018.
A newer minifigure for the character may look similar to the red, blue and yellow comic costume, and we can imagine the LEGO Group either reintroducing the longer arms or opting for brick-built limbs to suit Ms. Marvel’s stretching powers according to the series.
Ms. Marvel will reportedly start streaming in 2022 ahead of her appearance in The Marvels. Whilst we’re waiting for a first look at the show, one for the nearer Hawkeye series was recently revealed – showcasing another new character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
