There’s only one new ship in the LEGO Star Wars Ahsoka sets

A trio of LEGO Star Wars sets based on the latest Disney+ series, Ahsoka, have been revealed, but only one of the ship models is new.

Launching on September 1, Ahsoka is receiving three sets inspired by the show streaming from August 23. However, most of the ships in them have been seen in LEGO Star Wars before, thanks in no small part to the series’ connections with the Clone Wars and Rebels animated series.

That’s not to say that the LEGO models haven’t changed though. It’s interesting to see exactly how a decade or so of evolving building techniques has affected them.

As reported previously, 75357 Ghost & Phantom II revisits vehicles seen in two previous sets. The Ghost’s closest model is from that of 75053 The Ghost and the Phantom II was last seen in 75170 The Phantom. They were released in 2014 and 2017 respectively.

Keeping in mind the series’ close connections with Star Wars Rebels, the home of the crew getting a new LEGO iteration isn’t entirely surprising. The minifigures are mostly firsts for the theme with the first depiction of Jacen Syndulla, Lieutenant Beyta and First Officer Hawkins.

75362 Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle

Price: £64.99 / $79.99 / €74.99 Pieces: 599 Minifigures: 4 Release date: September 1, 2023 Available: Pre-order now

The first LEGO T-6 Jedi Shuttle was launched in 7931 T-6 Jedi Shuttle as part of the Clone Wars LEGO sets in 2011. The white and red ship is back in 75362 Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle, also including four minifigures – two of which are character firsts for the theme.

The build has changed, but not as much as another model. The shaping is similar between the two sets but the colour has changed from white to grey, possibly representing the many years in-universe since the Clone Wars. The cockpit is smaller, now only featuring space for a single minifigure.

75364 New Republic E-Wing vs. Shin Hati’s Starfighter

Price: £94.99 / $109.99 / €104.99 Pieces: 1,056 Minifigures: 5 Release date: September 1, 2023 Available: Pre-order now

There are two ships in 75364 New Republic E-Wing vs. Shin Hati’s Starfighter. This isn’t the first LEGO E-Wing thanks to The Yoda Chronicles’ 75018 Jek-14’s Stealth Starfighter from 2013. That makes Shin Hati’s starfighter the only new vehicle to LEGO Star Wars in all three Ahsoka sets.

These two versions of the E-Wing have the most change out of the Ahsoka sets, changing the cockpit windshield, nose shaping and wing-mounted engines, but still including three minifigures and a droid between them.
