Five rare minifigures included with LEGO Star Wars Magazine
Thanks to free foil bags included with LEGO Star Wars Magazine, fans have been able to add a number of rare minifigures to their collections.
Official LEGO magazines have proven to be a useful resource for collectors over the years, alternating between giving away free minifigures and mini-builds, many of which are exclusive to the print-based titles. With Immediate Media’s LEGO Star Wars Magazine, fans looking to fill out their galactic forces have long had a much cheaper method of acquiring certain characters compared to purchasing larger and more expensive sets.
The same holds true for a number of rare minifigures that have appeared as foil-bagged freebies with the magazine. In fact some of the characters listed below have only ever been included with just one or two LEGO sets, making them highly desirable items to those who may have missed out on picking up pricier models. Here’s our list of five rare minifigure foil bags included with LEGO Star Wars Magazine, complete with current market value prices (at the time of this writing):
5 – 912281 501st Legion Clone Trooper

An essential army-building must-have, the 501st Legion Clone Trooper appeared as a free gift with LEGO Star Wars Magazine issue 86. The character was previously exclusive to 75280 501st Legion Clone Troopers, a set that only exists due to vocal fan demand.
4 – 912289 Princess Leia

Due to be attached to the front of LEGO Star Wars Magazine issue 89 arriving this week, this original trilogy version of Princess Leia should prove to be quite popular. The minifigure variant last appeared in 2019’s 75244 Tantive IV and 2021’s 75301 Luke Skywalker’s X-wing Fighter.
