Reminder: LEGO is giving away immense Harry Potter prizes this weekend

The LEGO Group is giving away an incredible Harry Potter prize haul this weekend in a UK-wide Magical Mystery Hunt.

As originally rumoured on Brick Fanatics, the LEGO Group is holding a very cool competition to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the LEGO Harry Potter theme, involving a treasure hunt across three UK cities to find the hidden LEGO Flying Ford Anglia from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

The in-person hunt will take place in London, Edinburgh and Cardiff on November 6 and 7, and will begin at one of three giant golden LEGO minifigure statues hidden in each city. You’ll then need to use your smartphone, your wits and maybe just a little sprinkling of magic (but no cheating!) to discover the secret location of the Ford Anglia.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then. You can follow me on Twitter at @brfa_chris.
