Retired LEGO Star Wars set still available – and at a discount

75309 Republic Gunship has left production, but stock of the Ultimate Collector Series LEGO Star Wars set is still floating around – and you can snap it up at a discount thanks to Zavvi.

The 3,292-piece prequel-era model retired at the end of 2023, which means that once the current batch of sets has sold out, it won’t be coming back. It’s already long gone at LEGO.com in the US, but you can snag 75309 Republic Gunship at LEGO.com in the UK for full price – or score it for just £289.99 at Zavvi. That’s a £55 saving on its retail price of £344.99.

Chances are good that – like pretty much every LEGO Star Wars UCS set – prices of 75309 Republic Gunship will only rise on the aftermarket once it’s sold out everywhere, so this is basically your last chance to buy it with a discount. Head over to Zavvi to grab yours while you can.

75309 Republic Gunship dropped in 2021 off the back of a fan vote to find the next LEGO Star Wars UCS set, and became the first prequel-era model in the collection in over a decade. It’s since been joined by 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser, but remains one of the few Ultimate Collector Series sets tied to Episodes I through III.

In this case, the gunship pulls specifically from Attack of the Clones, with ball turrets in place of the Clone Wars variant’s fully-closing bay doors. Other details include its top-mounted cannons, twin cockpits, forward turrets, wing gun placements and an opening rear hatch. You’ll also find two minifigures in the box – Mace Windu and a Clone Trooper Commander – and the customary display plaque included with all UCS sets.

75309 Republic Gunship is on the brink of disappearing for good, so make sure to snap up your copy from Zavvi while the going’s good. There’s no telling when stock will sell out, but there are no more being produced…

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
