Rumoured description for LEGO Icons 10355 Blacktron Renegade spotted

LEGO Icons 10355 Blacktron Renegade gets a more detailed rumoured description, including specifics on what minifigures might be included.

Citing 4chan user Newman as a source, Clay Bricks has reported a more detailed description of the rumoured 10355 Blacktron Renegade on Instagram, as now corroborated by the typically reliable Brick Clicker on YouTube. Building on the initial rumoured details of a $109.99 price tag and 1,151 pieces, the LEGO Icons set is now said to include four minifigures, including two pilots and two crew.

Generally speaking, the set is expected to be a modern remake of the classic 6954 Renegade from 1987, with Brick Clicker comparing it to the now-retired 40597 Galaxy Explorer, which was itself a remake of 497 Galaxy Explorer.

If 6954 Renegade does provide inspiration, it will be getting quite the upgrade. Size-wise, the current rumours would suggest an increase of more than 700 bricks, plus two extra minifigures. That’s a similar difference in pieces as between 497 Galaxy Explorer and 10497 Galaxy Explorer, highlighting the level of detail that typically foes into classic remakes like this one.

Of course, take all of this information with a pinch of salt for now. We won’t know for sure if 10355 Blacktron Renegade is indeed on the way until we get official confirmation from the LEGO Group. With a rumoured release date of Janaury 1, 2025, we hopefully won’t have too long to wait.
