Rumoured LEGO Star Wars Dark Millennium Falcon could be based on Star Wars: Dark Side

The latest rumour for the reported LEGO Star Wars 75389 Dark Millennium Falcon is that it may be based on Star Wars: Dark Side – whatever it is.

Hot Toys, a manufacturer of detailed figures based on various licensed properties, has confirmed that they’re working on a range of Star Wars: Dark Side products. They have not clarified exactly what Star Wars: Dark Side is and no project seems to share that name in the official slate of Star Wars projects. Given Hot Toys’ previous partnerships with Disney and Star Wars, this appears to be the first official announcement of Star Wars: Dark Side.

Instagram user 1414falconfan now reports that the rumoured 75389 Dark Millennium Falcon could be based on Star Wars: Dark Side and speculates that it may not be inspired by the rumoured ‘What If’-style Star Wars series that has been recently reported via Daniel Richtman.

The Star Wars What If rumour followed the latest batch of LEGO Star Wars set reports, featuring 75389 Dark Millennium Falcon, hours after they surfaced. It may be best to take this ‘What If’ Star Wars report with a grain of salt just in case it’s not completely correct. Even the Instagram user notes that this rumour might not be accurate.

For now, whatever Star Wars: Dark Side is could be more relevant to the rumoured LEGO set. One possibility is that Star Wars: Dark Side is the name of a new multi-brand product line not based on a single specific source, drawing inspiration from various projects for Dark Side versions of iconic characters. Given that there are existing designs and inspiration for (most of) the rumoured minifigures in 75389 Dark Millennium Falcon, it’s a possibility worth considering but nothing has been announced concerning Star Wars: Dark Side.

At the time of writing, the LEGO Star Wars rumour has not been officially confirmed and all reports should be taken with caution to avoid disappointment as there’s always the chance that details are inaccurate or that the entirety of the rumour is false. LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
