LEGO Star Wars Microfighters have a distinct style with exaggerated features that just about fit a minifigure and are not wholly accurate to the ship. This may be less than ideal for those that have been waiting for a LEGO Star Wars Yavin IV set since the prototype model appeared in the 2009 LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary.
However, previous LEGO Star Wars location sets have utilised a larger scale for small iterations of ships. The TIE Advanced in both 75159 Death Star and 75251 Darth Vader’s Castle featured space for a minifigure inside, though it was nowhere close to the scale of the fictional proportionate to minifigures.
The Y-wing in the rumoured 75365 Yavin IV Rebel Base could utilise this scale for the ship, allowing it to be functional for the minifigures said to be included as well as the rumoured playset itself. This would also prevent the breaking of immersion by making the pilot sit outside of the vehicle and in the vacuum of space, as is the case with Microfighters. However, this has only been the case in two sets (not including the older Death Star), to our knowledge.
At the time of writing, the rumour has yet to be officially confirmed and it should be taken with a pinch of salt until an official announcement is made. The original report only discloses that a Microfighter could be included too.
