Six LEGO sets with the most minifigures of all time – November 2023

Huge LEGO sets need a lot of minifigures to populate them, so here are six LEGO sets with the highest number of minifigures included.

The release of LEGO Marvel 76269 Avengers Tower introduces not only the most towering skyscraper but also a massive cast of 31 minifigures. That includes a meta appearance from Kevin Feige himself (aka President Marvel), as well as a varied cast of Marvel characters from throughout the franchise.

Although 76269 Avengers Tower has the most amount of minifigures, there are several others that come pretty close. Here’s a look at six LEGO sets with the highest number of minifigures, as of November 2023.

The biggest LEGO NINJAGO set ever brought with it a whopping 22 minifigures, including a special version of Wu Sensei and Scoop the Robot. Released to celebrate ten years of the theme, the model certainly isn’t crowded even with 22 characters dotted throughout its various levels. All of the core ninjas are included, as well as several allies and residents of 71741 NINJAGO City Gardens.

=4 – 21337 Table Football

Arguably the centrepiece of 21337 Table Football is its 22 minifigures. In joint fourth place, the LEGO Ideas set made various firsts with its player line-up, such as the first minifigure to have vitiligo. There are also plenty of ways to customise the minifigures, with 44 head and hair options to pick from. In a set with so many minifigures in the same clothing, it would have been easy for them to look homogenous, so keeping each varied is certainly a feat to achieve.

=4 – 10305 Lion Knight’s Castle

A brick-built castle the size of 10305 Lion Knight’s Castle needs a strong garrison to hold out, so 22 minifigures are a must. From the queen and her knights and archers to the wizard and forest people, there are enough minifigures to populate both inside and outside the castle walls. Using the interactive features of the set, you can have plenty of fun with them too, dropping them through trapdoors or posing them with horses and weapons galore.

3 – 75159 Death Star

Some might put 75159 Death Star higher up this list, but we’re not counting the four droids. You could perhaps make a case for the two astromechs but the interrogation and mouse droids certainly don’t count. Nonetheless, there are still 23 legitimate minifigures included in this now-retired LEGO Star Wars set, including named characters like Vader, Leia, Chewbacca, and more, as well as a motley cast of Stormtroopers, Royal Guards, gunners, and more to crew the enormous Death Star build.

2 – 76178 Daily Bugle

76178 Daily Bugle is a love letter to Spider-Man. With the web-slinging hero facing dozens of villains and making even more friends throughout his adventures over the years, that left the LEGO Group designers with a massive list of 60 potential minifigures. The team behind the LEGO Marvel set managed to whittle this down to 25 minifigures. Some particular favourites of ours include Miles Morales, the Green Goblin, and Mysterio (complete with his opaque sphere head).

1 – 76269 Avengers Tower

Coming in at the top, we have the upcoming 76269 Avengers Tower with 31 minifigures. It’s perhaps no surprise that LEGO Marvel is behind two of the six LEGO sets with the most minifigures. The MCU has 32 movies and 23 TV series under its belt at the time of writing, drawing on decades worth of characters and storylines for the comics. Even with both 76269 Avengers Tower and 76178 Daily Bugle, there are still more MCU characters without minifigures (although you might need to start digging deeper to find them).

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
