Six things we spotted in LEGO Icons 10335 The Endurance
LEGO Icons 10335 The Endurance is a massive build with plenty of secrets and while we wait for the set to release, we’ve spotted a few things.
This year’s new Black Friday LEGO set is 10335 The Endurance and it’s not far from release for those in the community eager to get their hands on it. With weeks to go until its launch on November 29 alongside the 40729 Shackleton’s Lifeboat gift-with-purchase, we’ve analysed official images and found a few interesting details.
Here are a few details, not including the brick-built toilet, that you’ll be able to find in 10335 The Endurance later this month.
6 – A new map design

10335 The Endurance has a few interior spaces to admire and while we previously highlighted one specific piece of furniture, the opposite side of that room has a new design for a printed map, likely depicting Antarctica. The design seems to be close enough to the edges of the tile for this element to be printed instead of using a sticker. We’d also point out the clever design for the door using an ingot piece.
5 – The oversized helm

Just outside this room is the helm and while the part usage is clever, compared to the stairs, doors, windows and furniture inside, it’s a lot bigger than it should be. It may have been designed to be this big to be easy enough for fans to turn and operate the rudder below.
4 – The Red Ensign flag

Hanging at the back of the ship is a Red Ensign flag, flown by merchant ships from the early 17th century onwards. It’s different to the Blue Ensign flag in 10294 Titanic, which is allowed on ships commanded by an officer of the Royal Naval Reserve, those that have a certain number of RNR officers and ratings on board, and hold an Admiralty Warrant which is issued per the conditions in the Queen’s Regulations and Admiralty Instructions.
3 – A skeletal build

LEGO skeleton enthusiasts should take special interest in 10335 The Endurance as the model is jam-packed with skeleton arms and legs in various brown hues on the rigging and for the safety rails around the edge of the ship.
2 – A hidden engine

Similar to 10294 Titanic, 10335 The Endurance has a steam engine contained within the model for you to admire when you lift off a section of the interior. Unlike 10294 Titanic, the complete build doesn’t seem to be able to split apart.
1 – An Easter egg on the plaque

The decorative and informative plaque in 10335 The Endurance features a model number as many other scale models of the ship feature, using the set’s number as a reference to the model itself alongside genuine facts and figures about the vessel.
