Sold out LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon could be a tough find

Fans hoping to pick up an exclusive LEGO Star Wars Exhibition Millennium Falcon may have to dig deep to obtain the model.

LEGO Star Wars: The Exhibition will be opening its door to visitors on May 4, 2025, with the event kicking off at the Melbourne Museum, Australia. Those in attendance will be able to check out a number of large-scale models assembled by LEGO Certified Professional Ryan ‘Brickman’ McNaught and his team, using over eight million pieces and taking more than 25,000 hours to complete.

However, fans hoping to grab an exclusive new Millennium Falcon set available from the show might need deep pockets in order to obtain the iconic Corellian freighter. Two VIP packages for LEGO Star Wars: The Exhibition went on sale recently, offering guests early access to a unique preview event, special bricks and more perks.

Unfortunately, the Millennium Falcon Package is now sold out, despite its $295 AUD asking price. For that figure, lucky fans will receive a ‘behind the brick’ presentation and walkthrough from Ryan himself on May 2 and May 3, gain preview access to the exhibition, an exclusive lanyard, LEGO Classic 11016 Creative Building Bricks and a copy of the Bricktionary book signed by the LEGO Certified Professional.

Of potentially more interest is the inclusion of what appears top be an exclusive LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon set, one that features a printed element (incorrectly positioned) on top. This model looks similar in design to 2003’s 4488 Millennium Falcon, save for the printed 2×2 tiles on either side (blank here). From this initial image it’s tricky to tell whether there are any real differences between the two printed dishes.

Either way, with this particular Millennium Falcon model currently being a LEGO Star Wars: The Exhibition exclusive, fans wanting to pick up the build will either have to wait for the in-person event to potentially pop up in other regions or pay a pretty penny for the set on the secondary market.

At the time of this writing, there are no signs of the new Millennium Falcon on eBay or BrickLink, although that may change once visitors have attended the upcoming event. In the meantime, the show’s exclusive C-3PO Package is still available, priced at $58 AUD for adults, $53 AUD for adult members of the Melbourne Museum, $44 AUD for children, $39 AUD for child members and concessions priced at $53 AUD.

Well, the good news for everyone is that the Millennium Falcon set with the exhibition is the 30708 released Falcon and not some special version not available elsewhere.

It appears that image used in the promotion was just a quick mock up and was not of some special release set which would go some way to explaining how that top piece was put on sideways.

The photo of the mini model of the millennium falcon has the printed piece oriented the wrong way. Those six circles are situated at the back of the ship.

what’s new about the printed piece compared to the identical older version that can be picked up for a few quid?
