Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith re-releases ahead of LEGO May 4th event
Ahead of this year’s LEGO Star Wars May the 4th event, Revenge of the Sith will be re-released on big screens around the world.
We’re mere months away from the LEGO Star Wars May the 4th event for 2025, but initial details of what this year’s rumoured GWP offering might be have already appeared. However, ahead of the annual galactic promotional period, it’s now been confirmed that Revenge of the Sith will be returning to the big screen for a limited engagement to celebrate the prequel’s 20th anniversary.
Episode III re-releases on April 25th, 2025 for one week only and for the first time in 4DX, with high-tech motion chairs that sync with 21 of the film’s effects. The movie will arrive slightly earlier than its actual 20th anniversary though, with Revenge of the Sith having originally premiered on May 19, 2005.
A new poster has been created to mark the occasion by renowned graphic artist Matt Ferguson, who also designed a one-sheet image for the 40th anniversary re-release of Return of the Jedi in 2023.
We’ve already heard that the LEGO Group is apparently on the front foot for Episode III’s big celebration in a way it wasn’t for The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. In addition, the official Episode III 20th anniversary logo was also recently revealed and may pop up on a number of rumoured LEGO Star Wars sets in 2025.
Only one model directly connected to Revenge of the Sith has been released so far this year, with 75402 ARC-170 Starfighter having launched on January 1. More LEGO Star Wars sets based on Episode III are said to be arriving later in 2025, although none of them have yet to be officially confirmed.
