LEGO Ideas RNLI Shannon Class Lifeboat makes a splash with 10K supporters
Yet another fan-made LEGO Ideas design has sailed into view, with RNLI Shannon Class Lifeboat proving it has plenty of supporters out there.
The LEGO Ideas process continues to be a source of diverse fan-designed builds, with more such creations making their way into the first review of 2025 on an almost weekly basis. The latest (and 33rd) addition to that lofty line-up is RNLI Shannon Class Lifeboat, the brainchild of TheCrankyBuffalo.
The LEGO Ideas submission has successfully managed to hit its goal of 10,000 supporters and now enters the judging phase to decide whether or not it will become a future physical set at some point.

RNLI Shannon Class Lifeboat is based on the real-world vessel used by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution in the UK. Celebrating the bicentennial of the Angels of the Sea, the LEGO Ideas set faithfully recreates the latest all-weather lifeboat design, a unique craft that can be launched and recovered using SLARS – the Shannon Launch And Recovery System.

The latest version of RNLI Shannon Class Lifeboat now boasts a brighter orange colour scheme (following feedback from supporters), a modular build (with the lifeboat able to split into four sections), two fully directional waterjets, a submersible tractor unit and much more.
We’ll now have to wait until later in 2025 to find out if RNLI Shannon Class Lifeboat makes it beyond the first LEGO Ideas review of the year and which (if any) other fan designs might be along for the ride.
