LEGO Ideas journeys under the sea in latest wildlife-focused project

Taking a leaf out of LEGO Ideas 21342 The Insect Collection, another wildlife-themed build from a fan designer journeys under the ocean.

Designed by LEGO Ideas fan designer and first-time 10K Club member LeonAwesome, Jellyfish Collection features six brick-built jellyfish of varying colours and sizes. That includes moon jellyfish with its short tentacles; atolla jellyfish that lives in the dark with one longer tentacle; lion’s mane jellyfish, one of the largest known species; mangrove upside-down jellyfish that mainly lives upside down (hence the name); mauve stinger distinguished by its pink and purple colours; and immortal jellyfish that’s only a few millimetres wide in real life.

Each LEGO creature sits on its own stand that represents its natural habitat, just like the three main insects in 21342 The Insect Collection. As well as in LEGO Ideas, sets like LEGO Icons 10331 Kingfisher and the various animal-focused sets from LEGO Creator 3-in-1 highlight the interest in brick-built wildlife.

While the market is clearly there, whether Jellyfish Collection becomes a real LEGO Ideas set is now in the hands of the review team. Remind yourself of its competition in the table below.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
