Transport-centric project ascends the heights of LEGO Ideas
A unique form of transportation from Portugal is aiming for a slot in the LEGO Ideas slate, ascending the heights as it does in real life.
The mind behind the in-review functional microscope is back in a LEGO Ideas review round as Peter_Designs pitches a recreation of Lisbon’s Bia Funicular, climbing the brick-built hills with a sloped tram car as it does in the real city.
The colour palette of the proposed set is suitably bright but its subject matter might be too niche for a worldwide set. At the very least, it would be right at home at the LEGO Certified Store in Lisbon, which has a mosaic of a similar form of transportation in the city. It’s just begging for a promotional photoshoot in the city, with a home base for the LEGO Group not too far away.
With the likes of an Italian Riviera recreation in the upcoming LEGO Ideas set selection, this model may have a decent chance in the first 2025 review. That said, it’s up against submissions inspired by the likes of Taylor Swift, Portal 2, Phineas and Ferb and even Avatar: The Last Airbender
