It’s time to get things started with LEGO Ideas Muppets 10K submission
A unique and practical LEGO Ideas submission based around The Muppet Show has managed to drum up support from 10,000 fans.
LEGO Ideas is certainly no stranger to The Muppets, with a number of fan-designed creations inspired by Jim Henson’s characters having been submitted over the years, but never making it that far. However, that could well be about to change, if the latest build to join the first review of 2025 eventually becomes a physical set at some point.
Designer Howdy Ashley Here has taken a unique approach to her first-ever LEGO Ideas submission though, presenting The Muppets: Statler & Waldorf’s Balcony. The model offers up a slice of the classic Muppets theatre, with a build of a viewing box that also doubles up as a practical key holder.
Inspired by such wall-mounted sets as 21333 Vincent van Gogh – The Starry Night and 76271 Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City, The Muppets: Statler & Waldorf’s Balcony also features minifigures of the pair of elderly hecklers, as included in 71033 The Muppets.
Beneath the small Muppets theatre scene are three sturdy rods for hanging a set of LEGO keys and keyrings, although the fan designer does state that the structural integrity of the 219-piece build is strong enough to support the weight of the real items.
We’ll have to wait and see if The Muppets: Statler & Waldorf’s Balcony has what it takes to make it beyond the first LEGO Ideas review of 2025, with the judges’ decision due later this year.
