Romantic sculpture captures the hearts of the LEGO Ideas community
10,000 LEGO Ideas voters have fallen in love with a brick-built rendition of Rodolfo Marasciuolo’s Bench of the Lampposts in Love.
In real life, you can find the sculpture of two lampposts in love in Parco del Valentino in Turin, Italy. Garden artist Rodolfo Marasciuolo created it to show the two inanimate objects as if they are embracing one another, perched on a bench that reads ‘Love Enlighten Me.’
Now, LEGO Ideas fan designer LeoAdri has created a brick-built version of the famous artwork, featuring two fully articulated lamp posts, complete with light-up bricks. The posts are apparently posable so you can display your glowing dup in various romantic configurations. There are also customisable stickers to recreate the graffiti on the bench, with several phrases to choose from.
With the popularity of LEGO Art sets, “LOVE ENLIGHTEN ME” the Bench of the Lampposts in Love seems like a logical next step for the LEGO Ideas theme, having already brought us brick-built masterpieces like 21333 Vincent van Gogh – The Starry Night. With LEGO Art debuting its first sculpture recently in the form of 31214 LOVE, could this fan-designed build be next?
