The LEGO Movie 2 Story Artist to direct a feature film

Emily Dean, who worked as a Story Artist on The LEGO Batman Movie and The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part will make her feature directorial debut on Tao.

The Story Artist for The LEGO Batman Movie and The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, Emily Dean, has been signed to direct her first feature film. Sony Animation Pictures has selected the animation talent to direct Tao, a female-driven science-fiction adventure set in China, Deadline reports. The animated feature will be released within the next few years.

Her career began in the Pixar story department before she moved to work for Phil Lord and Chris Miller, leading her to work as Story Artist on The LEGO Batman Movie and The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part was recently released on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD. shop.LEGO.com is offering double VIP points on 70838 Queen Watevra’s ‘So-Not-Evil’ Space Palace and 70839 The Rexcelsior.

Three more sets were recently announced for the theme, with The LEGO Movie 2 70848 Systar Party Crew, 70849 Wyld-Mayhem Star Fighter and 70847 Good Morning Sparkle Babies! expected to launch on August 1.
